The 80's version of SKATEBOARD! edited by Steve Kane seemed to take its influence from Thrasher in that it covered more than just Skating It had pages dedicated to music reviews, band interviews, cartoons, fanzines etc.

One of its best features however was the product reviews in which it tested decks trucks wheels etc this was a no holes barred attack on the powers that be if there goods were not up to scratch and some manufacturers even stopped advertising if there products where criticized .

It cant go with out mention that it was Bristol based and this led to a bit of rivalry with RAD in London and helped get coverage for local skaters in that area. Around 1990 publication and editorship passed to the Noble Brothers who are still involved in skateboarding through Document a new school mag and a ramp company.
